Every girl has best friends, but not every girl has a loyal dog. Luna is my black Cocker Spaniel. I have had her since she was four months old in 2006. Yup, she is now eight years old and it has been a long road for the two of us. She has been by my side through boyfriends, break-ups, attending college, losing my home in Hurricane Sandy, falling in love, and my wedding day. Through it all she has been there every day for me with a smile and love!
Since August of 2014 Luna has been sick. Since she is a Cocker Spaniel she has a lot of allergies. During the Fall season her allergies at times can turn into a Staph Infection. Well, this time that’s exactly what happened. She started with her Staph Infection in August and since then has been to three different veterinaries. Attempt after attempt on putting her on various medicines to try to solve the problem, it all didn’t work. I was emotionally and financially drained from all of the expenses and Luna was just getting worse. Soon the infection spread through her whole body, went into her eye, and a large mass grew in her left ear. Then, I was highly recommended from two different people to go see a veterinary in the Hamptons. For me the Hamptons is very far but I was desperate and wanted to find a cure for Luna. I have been to veterinary after veterinary trying to get Luna better! So, I made the decision to take the road trip to the Hamptons and have Dr, Jiu Jia Wen check Luna out.
From the minute we walked into Hampton Veterinary Hospital we felt comfort! All of the staff was extremely nice and kind to us. We had no wait time at all for Dr. Jiu Jia Wen, and he was the same way as his staff! He was kind and right to the point and didn’t want to waste any of my money or time! He told me to change her diet and recommended her Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine. It has now been three weeks and we just came back from her check-up. Luna is finally on her way to getting better! Since this has been such an emotional roller coaster, words cannot describe how I feel about Luna finally getting better!
